I often crave a bowl of rice pudding. Not overly sweet, but there is something so comforting about it and it reminds me of my childhood desserts. This sounds like the ultimate comfort. So sweet but without too much refined stuff. 😂 ❤️❤️❤️❤️
With those caramelised bananas (and the date syrup 😜), you really don’t need much sugar in the rice pudding 😅. Interesting way to cook the pudding – I guess it’s much lighter than the usual one 🤔 Looks delicious, Oksana 😋
First I thought I saw potatoes on rice, and I thought what the f…alafel is this? Then I read the post and understood it’s bananas. Now that’s what I call a treat. Rice pudding is a big favourite of me 😍. And then with caramellized bananas and date syrup, oooh to die for (not really of course) 😍😍🔥🔥❤️❤️😋😋. With this post you’ve reminded me of a rice pudding I used to make a lot many years ago. It was a recipe from Stevie Parle, a British chef. I have to look it up again.
I still haven’t tried rice pudding! Maybe this one as in not a fan of sweet desserts!
I live rice pudding, but little known fact about me is bananas are not my thing. Maybe the only thing I don’t really like to eat unless they’re in bread!
Ooooo…Husband would adore this! Never heard of dessert rice (well, Caroline, what did you expect Oksana to use…Uncle Ben’s? 😂), so looked it up and I can buy from…Amazon (of course! 🙄). Even I MIGHT try a banana – with muscovado sugar and date syrup (no blame here…only smiles and applause!) – conversion could take place! 😍
Your rice pudding looks absolutely spectacular! Rice pudding/riz au lait was one of my favorite desserts when I lived in France. So simple to make with a lovely creamy texture but still distinctly grainy, cooked in milk flavored with vanilla sticks, and finished with a sprinkle of cinnamon, every rice pudding was heaven. I too love them not too sweet. Thank for this (yet another) stroll down memory lane. ❤️❤️❤️

Oddly enough my guys don’t like rice pudding. This cooking method and the date syrup really speak to me though.

Isn’t this the best creamiest rice pudding ever? 😍😍 I remember making this a long time ago with leftover rice. The cardamom adds subtle floral aroma to the pudding. And with the caramelised bananas, the rice needs less sugar-perfect for those who prefer their desserts to be less sweet. Thank you for cooking along for #fridayriceclub Oksana ❤️❤️
Hmmm. It looks so good! I like rice puddings very much, particularly if they are scented with warm spices. And I can totally understand that you poured date syrop over it. 😂 just because
I love date syrup and adding that has both my thumbs up. Great topping of caramelised bananas to an already creamy and comforting dessert. Lovely ❤️❤️
